Informa met the challenges of Snellman’s labelling reform
To stand out on store shelves and capture consumers’ attention, it’s crucial to invest in the visibility and distinctiveness of product packaging and labels. Updates to EU labelling rules came into force at the beginning of this year, requiring manufacturers to provide more comprehensive and accurate information about their products. The rising consumer interest in food ingredients is also increasing demand for detailed product information and impacting purchasing decisions. These trends pose new challenges for product labels and labelling systems.
Snellman, known for its consumer-oriented approach, implemented a label reform for its fresh meat products, taking the above trends into account. Alongside the traditional label on the top of the packaging, an additional label was added to the bottom of the box, which also folds up on the sides. This gives the product a new look, and the doubled label surface also allows sharing more information with consumers. The label tells you everything you need to know about the contents, nutritional values and use of the product without obscuring the visibility of the product inside the packaging.
Informa has responded to the challenges of Snellman’s labelling reform by supplying new labelling equipment for Snellman’s four production lines. ”Despite the significant increase in the number of machines, we have been happy to see that the throughput of the production lines has remained unchanged. The equipment has proven to be easy to use and reliable. We are pleased to have Informa as a partner,” says Roland Snellman, Production Director at Snellman.
